Landscape Design
We provide full landscape design services using an in-depth process to ensure all client requirements are understood and reflected in the landscape design:
- Initial client interview
Initial client interview
The first step in the design process is an on-site meeting with the clients to determine their needs, desires and overall objectives in the landscape project. We focus on determining how the clients wish to use their outdoor spaces, their design style and aesthetic preferences. Of particular importance is understanding the kind of space that resonates with the clients – for example, do they prefer wide open spaces or to be surrounded in a cozy nook. Understanding this is essential in creating a garden to ‘renew the earth and restore the spirit’. - Site inventory and analysis
Site inventory and analysis
The existing elements of the landscape area are identified and photographed, including trees, other plant material, existing hard surfaces, sun/shade patterns, soil type, wind, views (both those to be emphasized and those to be masked), focal points. A survey of the property is obtained from the client, if available, and any additional measurements are taken. These elements are then analyzed to determine what aspects will be maintained and what needs to be changed in the Final Plan. - Preliminary Concept Plans
Preliminary Concept Plans
Information obtained in the previous steps is used to develop Preliminary Concept Plans. Usually a minimum of two plans are prepared for client feedback. The plans are ‘to scale’ and will show a comprehensive view of the proposed elements of design with plantings, hard surfaces, landscape structures, water features, and other elements identified and labeled. The concept alternatives are fully discussed with clients; preferences and changes are noted for incorporation into the Final Plan. - Master Plan
Master Plan
Based on client feedback on the Preliminary Concept Plans, a Master Plan is developed. It is a detailed ‘to scale’ Final Plan. Plant materials, hard surface materials, structural details for custom features, lighting, irrigation plans and furniture will be shown in detail and labeled. A successful Master Plan will incorporate all elements needed to ‘renew the earth and restore the spirit’ - Collaboration with landscape

Collaboration with landscape installation professionals
The Master Plan is taken to contractors, engineers, regulatory authorities and other landscaping professionals for the preparation of estimates and to obtain any necessary approvals. Estimates are presented to the clients for final approval prior to entering into the implementation contract(s). - Oversight of the design implementation
Oversight of the design implementation
Our Company will oversee the design implementation to ensure the completed landscape will serve to ‘renew the earth and restore the spirit’ in accordance with our clients’ requirements. - Client interaction Client interaction is designed into every step of the process to ensure the unfolding design fully meets their expectations.
- Immediate or Staged Implementation Immediate or Staged Implementation Designs may be planned to allow for full implementation immediately or for a staged implementation over time to meet budget and other considerations.
Garden Consultations
On site garden consultations are offered at an hourly rate. Innovative ideas for garden design, plantings and site improvements are provided. The site visit is typically 1 to 3 hours. This service may be the best option for landscapes that the client wishes to implement themselves or where the client needs ideas for garden updates or problem areas.
Sustainable Landscapes
Our Company is passionate about ‘renewing the earth’. Our sustainable landscapes will:
- have high beneficial impact on the environment with low harmful impact
- be resource efficient – including rainwater capture and reuse; use plant materials with low resource requirements
- be minimally polluting
- create garden ecosystems that can sustain themselves over time
- be in harmony with the local environment – primarily using plant materials native to the area
- and, of equal importance, be designed to ‘restore the spirit’ of our clients
Roof Gardens & Balconies
Installing gardens on our roofs and balconies is an important way to recapture green space, thereby replacing the green space lost to urban development. Clients who do not have their own piece of land can ‘renew the earth and restore the spirit’ too! We will help you create your own little garden paradise in the sky. Options include container gardens through to green roofs utilizing planting medium.
Garden Maintenance
Garden Maintneance services are available under several options:- Seasonal contract – weekly or bi-weekly for the season from April to October
- Spring garden opening and/or Fall garden closing at daily rates
The services include planting bed clean up and maintenance, plantings as required of annuals, perennials, shrubs and small trees (cost of plant materials not included in maintenance contract), pruning, mulching, grass cutting.
